Low-Joe is a casino card based game. Now you can play the actual casino
game right on your Android device before stepping into a casino with
real money.
- Low-Joe can described as "A Supped-Up Reverse Blackjack". The
object is for you to draw a lower rank of card than the dealer. If you
draw a higher rank card, then you bust. You can split pairs, double
down, triple down, instantly win on first card Aces, play Aces for
bigger payouts and have continuation bets. Jokers, which normally is
half of the previous card, come into play for Low-Joes and Super
Low-Joes. That's where the big money is.
- A "Basic Strategy" chart is included to teach you the best
way to play. You can also click on the help button and tells you what to
do. A practice mode is included so you can choose what cards are dealt.
This is a great way to practice before ever stepping foot into a casino. It truly is the casino card game of the future.
- "Low-Joe" only play on Android. It is not cross platform.
- Requires Android 4.4 (KitKat or Higher) .
-
Because the "Low-Joe" video game app simulates casino gambling, the
app's rating is a little higher. It's not rated "E" for Everyone.
- Can
be used in portrait mode (vertically) or can be tilted to be used in
landscape mode (horizontally).
-
There is a slight bug on some devices. If you press the 3 dots at
the top of the screen and then choose to change areas (like going to the
instructions), then sometimes it will change back to the gameplay area
without warning. This is annoying as you are only in the new area
for a second or two. To fix this, after you change to a new area
(such as instructions), press and hold anywhere on the screen for 3
seconds. This will force the game into the new area and then you
can navigate it normally.
- Low-Joe:
Reverse Blackjack has US Patent #8,505,920 and other patent(s) pending. We welcome any serious
distribution inquirery from any gaming company or casino. This is
a real casino card game with house edge professionally calculated by
Tony Guerrera (author of "Killer Poker by the Numbers" and "Tournament
Killer Poker by the Numbers" with contributions to "Killer Poker Online
2" and "Killer Poker Shorthanded"). It is meant to be installed in
casinos as a table game. The original name was "Countdown" (AKA:
"Count-Down"). Just like Low-Joe and Reverse Blackjack,
SlifkerGames has claimed the trademarks of Countdown and Count-Down.
Version
2.10 of "Low-Joe" was uploaded to the Google Play Store. It's been
several years since I have updated it. This was done on the
Android only engine B4A using the programming language BASIC (Beginners
All-Purpose Symbolic Instructional Code). Because of that, it only
works on Android. It is not cross platform like most of my other
games. One thing about doing like this is the file size. It
comes in under 3 MB. Super, super, super small. For
comparison, most of my games are 250-800 MB in size.
I changed some of the graphics, such as
the main logo, to an updated version. When the app was created a
number of years ago, the standard screen resolution on Android was
320x480 (portrait). Today it is 1920x1080 (landscape).
That's a huge difference. I am leaving it 320x480 as it would take
too much to re-program it to 1920x1080. Using B4A, it's actually a
major thing. However, you can still tilt the device to landscape
mode and it will adjust to 480x320. It doesn't matter what your
device's settings are, the game will automatically adjust to whatever
resolution you are using.
Google had a mandated API change for apps on the
Play Store by November 1, 2019. For "Low-Joe", now the minimum
API is 4.4 (Kit Kat) while the target API is 29 (Android 10). This
means you need an Android device that uses version 4.4 or better.
The target API of 29 is just a Play Store thing and does not affect your
install.
- New screenshots were posted on this page and on FaceBook. They
include both horizontal and vertical looks.
- New
pictures were uploaded to YouTube as thumbnails. At some point, I
will update the game.
